Engineering Subject Centre Student Award 2010
Calling all engineering lecturers and their students!
Every year the Engineering Subject Centre provides the opportunity for all students studying a discipline related to engineering at undergraduate level in a UK higher education institution to submit opinions and experiences in a 1000 word essay.
This year students are being asked to use their imagination, put themselves in their tutors’ shoes and answer the question ‘imagine you are an engineering lecturer for a day: how would you teach your students?’ As in previous years, we expect to gain some fascinating students’ eye insights!
The aim of the competition is to highlight good practice in this area and to motivate students to think about how they learn. Once they have written their essay all they have to do is submit their entry via email. All shortlisted entries will be published on our website and the winner will be presented with their prize of £250 at ee2010 in July 2010. Two runners-up will received £50 each.
As ever, the competition can only be a success with your immeasurable help in publicising it to your students.
Posters and postcards are being mailed out for you to put up on your noticeboard and distribute amongst your students. You could also email the link to the webpage to them.
For further information please contact Kate Collins at kate@engsc.ac.uk
