Across the UK
The Engineering Subject Centre works closely with engineering departments, schools and faculties at higher education providers in each nation; specifically, there are 8 from 12 HEIs in Wales that offer engineering, and 12 from 20 in Scotland. Both HEIs in Northern Ireland offer engineering degree programmes.
HEI engagement
The Centre engages with HEIs across all the nations through its department contacts, visits, development workshops and activities that involve its Associates and through specific initiatives that have included visits and Mini-Project funding in Wales and Mini-Project funding in Scotland.
Funding Councils
Higher education is funded across the UK by the funding councils of each nation: England – HEFCE; Wales – HEFCW; Scotland – SFC; Northern Ireland - DELNI. The funding councils each aim to enhance the learning provision in HE for their respective nation, through initiatives and funded opportunities.
