This two day residential workshop was aimed at recently appointed engineering lecturers and designed to complement university run courses offered to all new academic staff.
These practical activity based workshops provide delegates with the opportunity to share ideas and experiences with colleagues from across the UK. The programme covers a range of topics relevant to teaching undergraduate engineering students including designing modules and assessing engineering students. There was also the opportunity to learn more about the resources available from The Centre for Engineering and Design Education (formerly the HEA Engineering Subject Centre) and how the Centre can support delegates in their teaching.
The programme included: Approaches to teaching engineering, Assessment and feedback, Re-capturing the lecture, Personal Tutoring and accessibility, Design for learning in engineering and Evaluating the student learning experience.
