Engage
Facilitating Dialogue between Employers and Engineering, Physical Sciences and Materials Academics in Higher Education
The Engage Project was a one-year employer engagement project funded in 2007 by HEFCE through the Higher Education Academy. The 13 project partner organisations covered academia, SSCs, professional bodies, industry, careers services and other stakeholder groups. Its aims were:
- To facilitate constructive dialogue between employers and academics in higher education.
- To develop a common understanding of the skills agenda relating to engineering, physical sciences and materials disciplines in higher education.
- To build capacity for future collaboration.
The project produced a final report, resources including guides, case studies and a DVD. It also held a conference in January 2008.
